In 2020, west coast skate shop Atlas and Nike SB came together once again to work their magic to the Nike SB Dunk High. Dubbed "Lost At Sea," the skateboard sneaker brings attention to the "The Great Spill of 1990" where a cargo ship from Korea to the U.S. spilled out over 61,000 pairs of Nike sneakers into the sea after a storm. Some of the sneakers washed up on a Californian shore, including pairs of the Air Flight 90. This collaboration takes cues from the retro sneaker.
If a sneaker were to ever mimic a washed-up pair of Air Flight 90s, the Nike SB Dunk High Atlas does it very well. For starters, the embroidery on the tongue pays homage to enough to the cross-training shoe, showing off the Atlas brand name while miming the sneaker's similar script. Moving down to the upper, it is entirely covered in faint sail and blue colors that are chipping away, adding to its distressed motif. Lastly, the yellowing midsole wraps up the collaboration to complete the old look to the new collaboration. A boat key float hangtag ensures these pairs will find their way to safety if they suffer the same wet fate as the pairs that inspired them.
The Nike SB Dunk High Atlas Lost At Sea released in October of 2020.

Please Note: QA on these was not ideal and they have been appearing with scuff marks on the heels. The Nike SB Dunk Low Civilist is proof that Nike SB did not play it safe in 2020. This release marked the second time The Swoosh had collaborated with Berlin-based skateshop and brand, Civilist, as the two previously worked on a Dunk High back in 2013.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Civilist packs a huge surprise into a low-cut silhouette. The sneaker features, what at first looks like, an entirely black upper. But when the sneaker is hit by any high temperature source, it morphs into a cornucopia of color. Shades of blue, red, green and yellow appear on the heat sensitive upper material, adding more layers than expected.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Civilist dropped in August of 2020.

The Nike SB Dunk High Color Skates Kebab and Destroy is designed by Athens' very own Color Skate shop. The sneaker is inspired by a national favorite in Greece, the gyro.
The upper of the sneaker is composed of a mix of suede and various forms of leather. Brown elephant print leather is featured on the heel to resemble the textured lamb meat in gyros. Tan suede overlays represent the pita, while hits of red tumbled leather on the Swoosh and laces are the tomatoes of the wrapped food. Gyro and Color Skates logo graphics are on the heels of each shoe, further showing off the sneaker's inspiration.
The Nike SB Dunk High Color Skates Kebab and Destroy released in June of 2021.

Every year, Boston-boutique, Concepts, delivers some of the most creative collaborations to date. From their Kennedy New Balances to new colorways of their Nike SB Dunk Lobster collection, Concepts never misses on telling stories through their partnerships with brands. In 2020, they released one of their most over-the-top sneakers to date with the Nike SB Dunk High Turdunken.
The Nike SB Dunk Turdunken takes inspiration from mallards and Thanksgiving traditions. The sneaker holds iridescent material on the tongue and Swoosh to represent the bird's colorful head and feathers. The side panels feature textured leather, mimicking bird feathers as well, while plush materials on the heel and toe imitate down jackets worn by hunters. A Hyper Orange outsole adds to the hunting-season aesthetic.
The Nike SB Dunk Turdunken released in November of 2020.
